"...you should expect something really different..."

Zirzamin: Milad, Ahoora's new album is on its way to hit the market within a month or two. Very exciting. What should we expect from it?

Milad Tangshir: Yes it is very exciting! I think in the first place you should expect something really different and also, like always, you should expect a lot of improvement compared to our previous album in terms of quality, originality and maturity. I really hope when “Awkward Diary” comes out everybody would have the same opinion!

Zirzamin: How long has it taken for you to put the album together?

Milad Tangshir: Actually I wrote all the songs during the 10 months that I was doing my military service. And the band started to record by late March (2009). But we were forced to put it on hold due to some personal problems and also the situation within the country. However we picked it up in September and finished the mastering by November.

Zirzamin: Wow….so it really is ready. Nice. Who is playing on the album? Are there any collaboration by other musicians on it?

Milad Tangshir: Beside Ahoora line up, which includes me on the guitars, Ashkan Hadavand on vocals and Mamy Baei on bass; Farzad Golpayegani has contributed with one guitar solo; Darren Motamedy with one sax solo, and also Parviz Norouzi has recorded two sax solos on the album.

Zirzamin: Nice names. You seem to have a nice collaboration on the new album. How is it financed?

Milad Tangshir: The album was completely financed by the band throughout the process. It’s obvious due to absence of a real music scene, which naturally includes music labels and companies.

Zirzamin: When should we expect it?

Milad Tangshir: It will be available to the general public within a month. You would be able to buy it in digital format as well as in CD format.

Zirzamin: We are truly excited and can’t wait to hear it.
